This small chapel was erected in the 1940s to honour St. Ignatius of Loyola, who has been the patron saint of Bizkaia since 13 May 1690. The most interesting feature is the polychrome carving of the saint, by an anonymous sculptor. The altar contains some relics and an autograph of St. Valentín of Berriotxoa. Interestingly enough, whereas St. Ignatius himself was from the neighbouring province of Gipuzkoa, but his mother was from Bizkaia, the Biscayan Saint Valentín de Berriotxoa was born of a Gipuzkoan mother. The two saints are now the co-patrons of Bizkaia and a symbol of fraternity.
